Howdy! Are you an animal lover?  Well, today's Show the Earth Some Love Tip is perfect for you!

Show the Earth Some Love Tip #2

Adopt an Animal

Throughout Portland there are several places to adopt an actual, physical pet, but if a pet doesn't fit your life here is a really great symbolic gesture.

Both the World Wildlife Fund and the Audubon Nature Institute have "symbolic adoptions" on their websites.  Visit the site, pick a species and help support global efforts to protect wild animals and their habitats.  Both sites provide an Adoption Kit, as well.

If you are in the market for a new pet for your home, check out the Oregon Humane Society's website here.  They have great pet profiles to preview before you visit the animals.

And, if you just need someone to cuddle, stop in to pick up a Wild Republic brand stuffed animal.  Wild Republic works closely with several worldwide organizations that protect abandoned animals.  Proceeds from the sale of Wild Republic brand toys supports these efforts.
