Book Reviews, HolidaysMegan PeronaComment

Easter is this Sunday! Looking for a few more Easter basket treats? Books make a great gift, plus they're sugar free and healthy, in a lifestyle sense. Here are three of our favorites!

Bunny Dreams by Peter McCarty, ages 4+ $16.99

In bunny dreams, anything can happen. This sweet and whimsical bedtime story will have you singing a-b-c's, counting 1-2-3's and looking for friendly faces in the moon. Adorable illustrations and a soothing color pallet. By the end of the story your own little bunny will drift into dreamland too. Recommended for ages 4+

Lullaby & Kisses Sweet: Poems to Love With Your Baby, Selected by Lee Bennett Hopkins, Illustrated by Alyssa Nassner $15.95

Thirty poems to love with your baby! These simple rhymes are easy to read-aloud, with sweet sentiments. Only a few lines each so you can choose to read a lot or a little. We love that the book is split into categories every baby knows: Family, Food, Firsts, Play and Bedtime. Perfect for a baby shower gift! Here's one of our favorite poems:

Morning by Rebecca Kai Dotlich

Sun Woke up.
So did I.
Good morning, Mama.
Good morning, sky.
So many things
to hear - to see.
Look, world - it's me!

Sidewalk Flowers by Jon Arno Lawson, Illustrated by Sydney Smith, ages 4+ $16.95

While on a walk with her father a little girl collects flowers. Each flower becomes a gift, and whether the gift is noticed or ignored, both giver and receiver transform just a bit. This wordless picture book reads like poetry. Delicate, simple and pure. The book's message rings clear: small things, small people and small gestures are always important. Best for ages 4+
