What We're Reading: Mama Seeton's Whistle

Mama Seeton’s Whistle by Jerry Spinelli, Illustrated by LeUyen Pham

A sweet, nostalgic story new from Maniac Magee author, Jerry Spinelli. "No matter where you go, you can hear the call of home." Mama Seeton has a special way to call her children.  It's not loud. It's not fancy. But when she sends her two-note whistle into the air it finds her children, no matter where they might be. The whistle finds the children when they're young and in the backyard, older and down the block, and even when they're grown and spread around the world. This is a heartwarming story about the power of home and a parent's love. Plus, there's chocolate cake and it's set in a 1950's small town. Lovely for ages 3-6.
