The Greedy King has everything and gets anything that he wants. Except one thing, a magical quilt from the Quiltmaker who lives in the Mountains. The Greedy King orders the Quiltmaker to “give” him a quilt, but she declines saying that her quilts are only for the poor and homeless. The king persists and eventually the Quiltmaker agrees, but with one condition, the Greedy King must give away everything he owns.
This is one of my favorite picture books! It teaches the value in giving to others and sharing your talents for good. And, the book’s characters and quilting patterns are whimsically illustrated by Gail de Marcken.
Thanks for the review Liz!
