by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, Illustrated by Henry Cole

A heartwarming celebration of love and family just in time for Father’s Day!  This is the true story of two penguins, and their unexpected adventure into fatherhood. There are all kinds of families at the Central Park zoo. Every year the girl and boy penguins pair off and create families together. Roy and Silo, both boys, prefer each other. They do all the things the other couples do. They bow to each other, walk together, sing to each other, and swim together. They are inseparable. There is one thing they cannot do though. Roy and Silo can't have a chick of their own. One day their keeper, Mr. Gramzay noticed that Roy and Silo had created a nest out of rocks. Roy even found a rock resembling an egg and brought it to Silo in hopes that it would hatch! That is when Mr. Gramzay decided to help. He brought the pair a penguin egg of their very own to hatch and raise together. Read all about Roy, Silo and their baby chick, Tango in this ASPCA Henry Birch Children’s Book Award winner. Ages 2-5 years.
